Hey everybody,
Our “Worst of Austin” poll has been getting a bit of play, so I thought I’d give y’all a chance to comment on it.
We (me, Greg, Miranda, Megan, and Rob) did this as our final group project for UT’s School of Information Database Management Principles and Applications class. This class was not a web design or usability class. We know there a issues, like voting only once per IP address, and no write ins, etc. Basically we wanted to learn how to use mysql and php together to create a web based application. The poll seemed like a fun idea.
We’ve gotten some interesting feedback so far, and certainly ruffled some feathers with our choice of nominations. Here’s your chance to vent about any categories you hated, or loved, or wish were there. Maybe we’ll try to make a better version in the future.
kelly, you’ve really done it this time…i can’t believe bicyclists rights made the worst of austin poll! and that it’s the 2nd worst at that. maybe you should have hit a little lower, like “cross-country cycling trips for cancer.” consider our friendship cancelled, and on cinco de mayo. it’s going to be so sad having so much fun without you – on my bike.
i love this poll…and G&S lounge. Good thing coyote ugly was an available choice, reminding me of a particularly gruesome elimidate episode.
A haters paradise. I wish I could have voted for Flipnotics as worst coffee shop. Their coffee sucks!
ummmm…how dare you insult “the light of the hill country so”…
Wow Makes me want to live ther, where are the rockin places to go
This poll’s subject matter is downright adolescent in content and sentiment. You are determined to tear down individuals and groups that are pouring themselves into their work. How college of you? How cliche have you been here? Support your town, it’s business, it’s music, or go away. What idiotic fraternity have are you aligned with, college kids?
