Three poems & some audio at Hot Tub Astronaut

Jess at Hot Tub Astronaut recently published three new poems of mine, mostly written in response to the Poetry Prompt Generator I build for the Found Poetry Review earlier this year.

Also, HTA paired some rehearsal recordings of the sound performance I did in Brooklyn in May as a soundtrack to the pieces, so you have something to listen to while you read some poems based on 100 year old stationery and automotive periodicals.

Really System “weird special issue” 12 is in the world

I published the most recent issue of Really System recently. In a departure from form, this issue highlights more visual work and features some of my favorite people doing that kind of work (including several former contributors).

The cover image is from the AV store that used to be in the little strip mall near Players on MLK in Austin.

Submissions for issue thirteen, to be released on inauguration day, are open now!

Really System Issue 11: Yes, Sell My Art is in the world

Go read Really System Issue 11. It’s great! The cover is a production still from my film “kind of.”

Hygiene in Reading is now available for you to order and receive via mail

Yesterday was the surprise release date of my chapbook Hygiene in Reading, out via Publishing Genius Press. You can order a copy for $7, which is a steal, imho. I’ve written posts about that series of poems before; now you can see the beautiful cover designed by Joseph Young, the interior collage I made from illustrations in the source text, and even how the poems are typeset before you order. So excited that this book is now out there in the world, and, of course, super honored to have it associated with the great Chris Toll. My sincere thanks to the prize committee, to Jaime Perez for being such a supportive editor, and to Adam Robinson for designing such a beautiful book.

Three Poems in Posit #10

Very excited to have three poems in the latest issue of Posit Journal. Two have very long titles: That The Lake Would Still Be Frozen Had Not Occurred To Me, But Can’t We Just Leave Tornado Alley Though, & Tinnitus News. You should definitely check out the rest of the issue, especially the visual art.

Not that my poems are true or real or about anything, but when I was in Texas recently I snuck up behind my childhood home and took a picture of the honeysuckle bush that’s in the first poem. Look!
